  • Facilitated ‘visioning’ sessions to enable project teams to define their environmental objectives
  • Development of project ESD briefs that clearly establish the aims of the project
  • ESD feasibility studies and detailed investigations into options
  • Preliminary building simulations to explore and assess design concepts
  • Client advocacy and support to ensure that project ESD objectives are reflected in early project works

Design and Construction

Viridis assists projects throughout the design and construction phase with services and strategic support. We:

  • Run tailored training workshops on general ESD issues, ESD rating tools and specific components of rating tools;
  • Assess projects’ capabilities to target a desired Green Star rating. This includes ‘Pathway’ assessments of the optimal Green Star credits to target for each individual project, allowing for risk, impacts and costs associated with each credit;
  • Complete modelling, including NABERS, daylight, shading and comfort;
  • Complete reports, including compilation of Building Users Guides and Tenant Users Guides;
  • Review design documentation for projects targeting Green Star, NABERS and/or general ESD inclusions;
  • Provide Action Lists and Tracking Documents summarising the relevant Green Star documentation requirements for each member of the design and construction team;
  • Establish or review on-site tracking processes and documentation collection systems;
  • Compile Green Star submissions for assessment by the Green Building Council of Australia;
  • Provide pre-submission peer reviews of completed Green Star submissions by certified Green Star assessors

Occupancy and Asset Performance

Viridis provides expertise and support during the occupancy and general asset performance stage.  Reviewing and monitoring asset environmental performance is critical to delivering improved performance and meeting targets. Stakeholder information management, client advocacy, and technical assessment can support ongoing facility management as well as meet staff and executive management directives.

Asset Renewal and Redevelopment

Existing property stock accounts for around 95% of Australia’s property market. Of this, a large proportion of CBD buildings is over 20 years old and requires renewal or redevelopment in the next decade.

To best serve our clients’ needs, the experienced Viridis modelling team have developed a suite of modelling and analysis tools that provide relevant design guidance and verification at key phases throughout the project.
